Christopher Plummer did a great job as Getty. I don't think Spacey would have been the best choice for the role.
This movie was okay, which was nice because I accidentally purchased it while asleep on my FireTV remote. Mark Wahlberg will always be Marky Mark but I wouldn't shun him if he tried to rescue me.
The story was mind-blowing and shows truth is stranger than fiction. I'd say rent it, watch it once, and then move on, sister!
Michelle Williams. Excellent cast. Michelle Williams, as usual, is brilliant. My only issues with this film is the liberties is took with the film, versus the actual facts, such as dates of events and how things truly occurred.
But the story is fascinating with Wahlburg and Plummer doing what they do best I really enjoyed this film and it sparked my desire to learn more about the enigmatic Getty Sr and the rest of this very fascinating family.
All the Money in the World is about the kidnapping in Italy of the Euro trash grandson of J Paul Getty, who at that time was the richest man in the world.
I remember this incident and this movie captures this sensational incident superbly. It also shows that indeed, all the money in the world can't ensure happiness and others being kind to you.
It's amazing how he does it. Even his lines are perfect. You watch this movie waiting for Christopher Plummer to reappear again.
One side reason for awaiting Christopher Plummer's next scene is because at least he bathed. In complete contrast to his clean, groomed, behaved self, the movie perfectly captures how dirty, disheveled, and violent the kidnappers were.
This movie makes you yearn to get back to the clean, groomed, world of J Paul Getty. But the movie does an excellent job of showing the one thing J Paul Getty and the kidnappers had in common And the movie shows you what happens when money's that important to you.
The movie has great camera work, with exact, well-textured scenes of opulent wealth, grimy urban streets and lush Italian countrysides.
All the actors are very good to outstanding. The only reason I give this movie 4 stars is because it plays with the truth a bit too much to my liking.
In real life, the kidnapped Paul Getty was not a likable kid. In real life, his father was not a whacked out mess completely removed from trying to get his son back.
In real life, the kidnapped Getty's Mom wasn't as involved in trying to get her son back as this movie portrays.
In real life, billionaire J Paul Getty didn't have the kidnapped boy's mother oversee all of Getty's billions until his minor grandchildren all grew up.
And the movie disregards billionaire Getty's earlier statement that he had 14 grandchildren by his various children.
What about them? What about their parent's roles in managing all that money after the old man dies? The movie blows them off with a very dubious ending where a single person is asked to run it all.
And only on behalf of her kids. That definitely wasn't plausible. But any 5 star rating of this movie is correct too. It really is that good. It makes you keep watching.

I enjoyed Christopher Plummer's performance enormously and he is a really fine actor. Michelle Williams, Mark Wahlberg and Charlie Plummer all did very well and they played their parts to perfection.
The screenplay was authentic and and as were the sets and the photography as well as the music. A must see.
Not Scott's finest ever film of course, but very well done and revealing in both its picture of old man Getty and in how his meaness tore apart his family.
Hda Getty paid the ransom prior to months of refusing, then negotiating, treating it like a business deal, his grandson would not have had to live with his terible ipost kidnap injuries and not had a much shorter life than he wouldhave otherwise.
And even the full ransom would have been a drop in the Ocean for mean mr Getty Report abuse. I can remember the events that this film covers and it is a faithful telling nf of the story.
All of the cast are excellent but the stand out performance is that of Christopher Plummer, taking over the role of Getty from Kevin Spacey, I can't visualise anyone else playing the part now and he deserves all of the accolades given to him.
This is a really enjoyable film. An excellent telling of the story of Jean Paul Getty the third's kidnapping. Good performances all round and great script and cinematography, such a shame that it will only be remembered as being the film Kevin Spacey was cut out of and replaced by Christopher Plummer.
Still, well worth watching. A perfect cinematic recreation of both one of the most famous kidnappings of all time and an entire time period.
