George Orwell fans will recognize the content that has been updated. Cumberbatch was relatively young when he did this program, and as he has aged, so have the "information gatherers" among us.

This movie, The Last Enemy is fantastic. I am a fan of Benedict Cumberbatch's work in Dr. In seeing this movie; it seems to me like they are terrifying citizens to choose the ultimate invasive security over personal freedoms while ethnic cleansing the country.
That is how I view it. Acting was superb, Benedict Cumberbatch is always a wonder to watch. It's a futuristic thriller that is chilling because you know we are almost to where it could be a reality.
Spoiler alert! The story was quick moving and suspenseful, but I was hoping for a more optimistic ending. Through the first 4 episodes I would have rated it at 4 stars.
The final episode had twists and surprises that were not consistent with what we already knew. One seemingly "good guy" turned out totally bad, with no premonition or warning.
One seemingly neutral pawn of the bad guys turned out as bad if not worse than all the others. Not all the twists made sense when you went back to the beginning.
